They're wonderful to make for kids who struggle with separation anxiety, worries and stress.

Valentines Art with Sharpies and Tin Foil

Hey Lovely,

I know the feeling. Your kids want to craft but you don't want to get all the craft stuff out, and be left with a big mess.

It's probably one of the reasons for saying "no" when they ask to craft, right?

I get it. We moms are busy, and there are enough messes to clean up in a day, never mind the chaos that can come along with craft time.

Well, how would you feel if I told you your kids could have a ton of fun crafting today with about a minute of prep and virtually no clean up.

Got tin foil? Got Sharpies? Great. You're all set for your kids to make some cool Valentines art.

It's slick and shimmery, and the process is really fun.

It's also kind of addictive, so it may just keep the troops entertained for a while.

Paper Plate Heart Lacing Activity for Kids

Ok, is it just me that gets this excited over a kid's craft, or do you as well?

I mean, am I the only one who goes ga-ga looking at the pictures in this post?

And it's not JUST pretty, this craft taught a lot of different skills, and kept the kids busy for over an hour.

The gang that made these were ages 5-10, and they all LOVED it.

Although it's a perfect Valentine's project, you could tweak it to suit any day of the year.

Have a look, and tell me what you think! I mean it! I need to know that I'm not the only one who gets a little starry-eyed with I look at the photos!

Easy Tie-Dyed Heart Sun Catchers for Kids to Make

Hey, Lovelies! I think you're going to LOVE what we have for you today!

If you're tired of looking out at a bleak, grey landscape, you have to make these vibrant tie-dyed sun catchers.

Ok, we didn't REALLY tie-dye them. We just used one of our favourite easy art techniques to make it look like they're tie-dyed.

It's a super-simple process, and kids of all ages will love it. I had kids ages 4-10 making these with me, and they were all crazy for the project.

What a way to brighten up a window at this time of year!

Framed Heart Art on a Painted Paper Bag Canvas

I know how much you all loved our cardboard roll stamped hearts the other day... well... we've done it again, but this time, we've used a paper bag as our canvas, and we've framed our finished piece in a great looking (Dollar Store) frame. Here's a super-easy Valentines craft for your kids to make, and a great way to use up colourful fabric scraps leftover from past sewing projects! All you need to make one of these adorable, rustic little ornaments is a pipe cleaner and a strip of fabric. We've made ours in pairs, and tied them together to hang in a bedroom, but singles can be used as gift toppers or given along with a Valentines card. So quick. So easy, and so pretty!

Here's a cute and easy project that doubles as a Valentines craft and a beginner sewing or weaving project for kids!

Weaving is a terrific way to strengthen fine motor skills and co-ordination too! Trust me, even my big kid was challenged by this one a wee bit.

The nice thing about it is it doesn't matter how the kids do it, it's going to look great, making it a super project for all ages.

We jazzed our finished project up with a bit of paint, and they look just darling! Wouldn't you agree?
