Salt and Ice Activity – Melting Frozen Hands

This is one of my all time favourite winter science experiments for toddlers and preschoolers (although you really can do it at any time of the year).

You just prep the colourful hands the night before, and in the morning, set your kids up with a dish of salt and some scoops.

Ok, this has got to be one of the coolest experiments we do here. It's one of those classic experiments that they'll remember for the rest of their lives. I have parents and grandparents today who tell me they remember doing this as a kid. That's saying something about how memorable and fabulous it is.

The kids love the process, and I've also done this with adult friends and guests, and it blows everyone's mind mind every time.

If you haven't tried this fascinating experiment with your kids yet, you must put it on your to-do list.

Crystallized Beach Rocks with Borax and Watercolours

Okaaay... This is FABULOUS, guys! And I am SO excited to share it with you.

You know how you can make crystals with borax and hot water? People usually do it with pipe cleaners to make snowflakes and icicles, right?

Well, we used beach rocks. Oh My Goodness. And then, guess what we did! We coloured them, and turned them into these dazzling and vibrant crystallized stones that you can display on a table or use as a paperweight or give as a gift.

You have to see them! They are GORGEOUS! And the process was SUPER-easy, and so fun!
