Snow Day French Toast – Fun and Delicious Winter-Themed Lunch for Kids

This is the perfect lunch to serve to your kids on a snow day, or on a day when you've spent the morning building snowmen in the yard.

You just need a few cookie cutters to turn an ordinary french toast lunch into a fun winter-themed lunch.

And my french toast recipe is the best. The milk to egg ratio is perfect so your french toast will be crispy and golden-brown every time.

Kids love the little shapes. They're just right for dipping in syrup - no forks or knives necessary.

Pair it with fresh fruit and yogurt, and you have a perfectly nutritious and delicious lunch to serve the kids on a snowy day.

We chose fall colours for the background, but you can use whatever colours you'd like.

Amazing Fall Art with Melted Crayon Shavings

Ok, I am so excited with how our latest art project turned out!

We grated our broken crayons and melted them to create this gorgeous piece of fall tree.

Prepping for the process is fun - there's tin foil and painting involved, and the kids will enjoy sprinkling their crayon shavings over the painting to make their fall tree.

Watching the wax melt and set is rather mesmerizing and the results are BEAUTIFUL!

If you're tired of looking out at a bleak, grey landscape, you have to make these vibrant tie-dyed sun catchers.

Ok, we didn't REALLY tie-dye them. We just used one of our favourite easy art techniques to make it look like they're tie-dyed.

It's a super-simple process, and kids of all ages will love it. I had kids ages 4-10 making these with me, and they were all crazy for the project.

What a way to brighten up a window at this time of year!

They adored the decorating process. Seriously. They would've decorated cardboard tubes ALL afternoon if I'd let them. The dollar store tape you see here is the secret to what made that prcoess such a hit!

Filling the tubes was fun too, and then of course, playing with them! They sound so lovely!

And don't they look gorgeous? They're so colourful and vibrant. I'm just in love with them!

Coffee Filter Jewelled Trees for Kids to Make

We're in the final stretch now, folks! Less than 2 weeks until Christmas! How is that possible? It's hard to get my head around it because here in Canada, we're having down-right balmy weather. I know. It's crazy. We're usually up to our knees in snow by now, but today is like a cool summer day. It's so bizarre!
Regardless of the temperatures outside, we're getting into the spirit inside, and today we've crafted up some coffee filter, jewelled tree ornaments. The process is SO fun. The preschoolers love it, the big kids love it... heck, even I love playing around with this gorgeous art technique!
