In reply to Chris. Hi Chris! Your question is a good one. At full strength, right out of the bottle, food colouring will temporarily stain your fingers. The great thing is that shaving cream is an easy way to get the stain off, so when we mix food colouring with shaving cream for play, there really isn't any staining. If there's any slight discolouration, a scrub with some fresh shaving cream, when you're finished playing, should remove it. :)

Won’t using food colors stain? Whenever I use food coloring for frosting, egg coloring, etc, I found that it stained.

In reply to Pat. Yes, I imagine it would. You'd want to do this with age-appropriate children, and let them know not to touch their eyes while playing.

When my kids were little we did this, but we would have one child stand on the inside (or clean side) and pose against the window. The kids on the paint side would then paint the model. We would dress them as funny clowns or pirates along with any other character ideas they could come up with. It was always entertaining and every child loved getting involved. I’m so glad to see that kids are still doing this activity. It was always one of my favorites

I is over 60 when I was a kid in club scout we did lot of thing messy paint,mud making lot thing, some to learn our pin happy to know kid still have fun.

I use it on my tables at school when they get really dirty. Takes a while to get it all off, but I have clean tables and the kiddos love it. WE use it for namewriting practice while we are at it.

I love the colors that were made, cant beat shaving cream fun. The smell, texture all of it wakes the senses and gets the creative juices flowing. I love that your son joined also 🙂 Missed your posts, So glad you are back. you are a wonderful blogger!
