Styrofoam Printmaking for Kids (Block Printing)

GAHH! We are on such a roll with our Valentines crafts, and they're all so super-cool.

Ok, you have to check these out, Lovely.

We tried "printmaking" and we just used a styrofoam produce tray (from the grocery store) and a paint roller.

I can't believe how flipping awesome the process and results were.

I want to make all of my holiday cards this way now!

SUPER-fun and preschoolers can do this just as easily as teens!

Painting Like Eric Carle – Homemade Easter Egg Napkin Rings Craft for Kids

Ok, I have a really cool painting process to share with you!

Have you ever wondered how Eric Carle creates the artwork for the pictures in his books?

It's gorgeous, right? Wouldn't you love to create art like that?

Well, guess what!

He's made a short slide-show, demonstrating exactly how he paints, and it's actually a really simple process!

I gave it a try, and oh man! It's super-fun and totally addictive. I ended up making all kinds of coloured papers because once I got started, I couldn't stop!

Then I used some of the coloured papers to make Easter Egg napkin rings.

They're really pretty. And oh-so-Eric-Carle.

I think your kids are going to LOVE painting this way.

And try it for yourself.

This would be an AWESOME activity for a school art class or an art party!
